1-Point Hanger – Approach 2 (Rope Only) – Tuck a secondary bight under the lines of the strap (Quick)
Add a secondary bight to your upline.
Run that secondary bight under the lines of the strap.
Bring all the lines together above the strap. … You are going to lock this off as you would a Somerville Bowline, but at 90° to Approach 1 so that you grab around the secondary bight as you’re tying off.
To do this, arrange the bight and tail so that they are running in opposite directions, with the secondary bight laying parallel and alongside.
Now continue to lock off like you would a standard Somerville Bowline…

Tighten firmly.
As this is a Somerville Bowline, this upline can be run to the hard point just as it is.
Choose what you will do with the bight. (See “Options for the Bight” above). Here I have chosen to run the upline through it to keep it out of the way.
When creating the lift system, the rope can be run through this larger path.
