The footrope knot is a great knot for either making the transition from one part of your project to the next (like between the handle and the falls) or to end off the handle of a flogger…

This looks very similar to the Diamond Knot, but it’s constructed in a slightly different way and has different properties. Unlike the Diamond Knot which tends to have the strands further apart on the outgoing side, the foot rope knot tends to put the strands closer together on the outgoing side (although this can be controlled so it’s the same on both sides)

The foot rope knot can be done with any number of strands three and up. I will first show you a four-strand version done with paracord so that the colors make it very clear with happening and then a six-strand version done with ¼” (6mm) cotton rope
