Finishing and Care
Once the cap is tied, your flogger is functionally complete — but a few finishing steps will make it last and feel much better in the hand.
Trim each fall flush at your final length, leaving a clean cut. For natural-fiber rope, a quick whipping or a dab of fray-stop on each tip prevents unraveling; for synthetic rope, a careful flame-seal works (keep the flame moving and don't let the fiber drip).
Care: keep your flogger dry between uses, hang it from the cap so the falls hang straight, and brush out any tangles before they set. Treat the rope and the rope will treat you well.
