Pentagram Harness v2

This attractive harness can be lots of fun for religious- or occult-themed scenes and can serve as a great anchor for other layers of bondage.
This version updates version 1 of the Pentagram/Star Harness with a smoother way of doing the back and by adding optional Half Hitches to the front so as to (1) give the star a more regular shape and (2) to keep the ropes further from the front of the arm pits for added comfort and safety.
Notes: This harness can be placed on the chest only or to also bind the arms. This is the chest-only version.
I use an amazing Natural hemp rope provided by my affiliate Twisted Monk. Check them out!Prerequisites:
Rope Needed
For this tutorial, I used one 30' (~9m) piece of Natural 1/4" (6mm) hemp. If you need more, extend it. If you have more than you need, use it up.
Prerequisites
Pictures & Text
Start with a long rope folded in half. Run the rope across the upper chest.
Pentagram Harness v2 (1)
Bring the bight to the back. Reach through the bight and grab the tail.
Pentagram Harness v2 (2)
Reverse tension.
Pentagram Harness v2 (3)
Run the tail across the lower chest, Just below the breasts, if your partner has breasts.
Pentagram Harness v2 (4)
Reach through the secondary bight, the one you made in Step 3. Hook the tail and pull it though.
Pentagram Harness v2 (5)
Run the tail up over the shoulder.
Pentagram Harness v2 (6)
Reach under the upper chest band and hook the tail.
Pentagram Harness v2 (7)
Run the tail down the middle of the chest, laying it on top of the lower chest band.
Pentagram Harness v2 (8)
Place your finger under the chest band on the same side the rope came from. Hook the tail.
Pentagram Harness v2 (9)
Pull the rope up and through.
Pentagram Harness v2 (10)
Now bring the tail to the other side, forming a nice decorative twist on the lower chest band.
Pentagram Harness v2 (11)
Bring the tail over the other shoulder to the back. You want to route the tail to this location, so….
Pentagram Harness v2 (12)
Place your fingers under both straps to the other side like this and hook the tail.
Pentagram Harness v2 (13)
Pull the tail through.
Pentagram Harness v2 (14)
Reverse tension again, this time toward the armpit on the other side.
Pentagram Harness v2 (15)
Now you have a choice to make. You can either run the tail directly to the shoulder on the opposite side like this, or…
Pentagram Harness v2 (16)
…(optional) you can add a half hitch here first. The benefit of doing this is: (1) that it helps keep the rope from riding into the armpit and (2) it makes the pentagram/star pattern more regular.
Pentagram Harness v2 (17)
To do this, place your finger on top of the tail and under the upper chest strap. Lay the tail on top of the upper chest strap, then hook the tail.
Pentagram Harness v2 (18)
Lay the tail on top of the shoulder strap (left shoulder strap in this picture) and bring it to the opposite shoulder.
Pentagram Harness v2 (19)
Place the tail close to the neck so that the two sets of lines lay next to each other and not on top of each other.
Pentagram Harness v2 (20)
Another option: For a sharper point to the star, lay the top on top of the shoulder strap. This looks cool but comes with the trade-off of possibly creating a pressure point.
Pentagram Harness v2 (21)
Reach under the upper chest lines and the shoulder line on the other side to hook the tail.
Pentagram Harness v2 (22)
Pull it through.
Pentagram Harness v2 (23)
Reverse tension again, running the tail toward the armpit on the other side.
Pentagram Harness v2 (24)
Again, you have the choice of adding a Half Hitch here or not.
Pentagram Harness v2 (25)
Mirror whatever you did on the other side.
Pentagram Harness v2 (26)
Notice that the way we have been laying the lines so far has naturally resulted in a woven pattern.
Pentagram Harness v2 (27)
To continue the pattern, run the tail under the first shoulder strap…
Pentagram Harness v2 (28)
…and then lay it on top of the second.
Pentagram Harness v2 (29)
Run the tail over the shoulder, mirroring the choice you made on the other side.
Pentagram Harness v2 (30)
The tie is basically done, we just need to lock it off and use up any remaining rope here on the back.
Pentagram Harness v2 (31)
To do this, run the tail under one set of lines…
Pentagram Harness v2 (32)
…over the next and under the next…
Pentagram Harness v2 (33)
…and over and under again.
Pentagram Harness v2 (34)
If you have more rope than this, you could use up the rope using a Figure-8 pattern around the shoulder straps.
Pentagram Harness v2 (35)
But, as I have only a small amount left, I will just continue weaving.
Pentagram Harness v2 (36)
At this point I am out of rope. The ends are uneven because I have been going around a circle here on the back. This is not a problem!
Pentagram Harness v2 (37)
You can lock off the shorter end on one side...
Pentagram Harness v2 (38)
…and continue weaving the other end until it is done, then…
Pentagram Harness v2 (39)
…lock it off as well!
