Corsets Mini Course

简单

This beginner mini course teaches the building blocks of a rope corset in shibari, the Japanese art of decorative rope work, so you can eventually design your own. You'll start by understanding how a real corset is constructed and how those same structural ideas are replicated with rope, giving you a mental model before your hands ever touch a length of cord. From there, the course walks through the core techniques step by step: establishing the corset with a range of wraps and a busk, including the simple wrap, continuous reverse wrap, chain-stitch wrap, tail-through-3 figure-8 wrap, quick-release wrap, and working with a rod. You'll then learn to finish neatly by using up the leftover tail, and practice several boning methods that give the piece its structure and clean lines, including weaving, running loops, herringbone, and repeated crossing hitches. Finally, you'll learn how to add a corset to an existing chest or waist harness and how to use the tail from a new element for support. It's designed for beginners building deliberate, methodical rope skills, with attention to tidy tension and quick-release options for easy, controlled removal.
