Waxing Gibbous

There’s little room for misunderstanding in this position… Nothing says “come hither” quite like a full moon!

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie…Happy Valentine’s Day!

One of our members reached out to me asking about a tie that bound the rope bottom’s wrists to their feet while putting them in a very exposed position. I responded with a few verbal notes and links showing how to combine a few techniques to do this. However, where one person has a question, it is sure that others do, too. So here you are! An explanation on how to tie your partner into this fun presenting position.

Also, the name for this tie/position was inspired both by the rope bottom “mooning” whoever is behind them, and the obvious opportunity for “whacking” their derriere with canes, hands, ping pong paddles, etc. (Whacking → Waxing + Waxing gibbous = moon phase) Get it?

Risk Management / Safety

Muscle cramps

This tie requires your partner to be in an extreme position. Depending on their physical state, being bent in so many places could result in muscle cramps and difficulty breathing. Before tying, encourage your partner to gently warm up and stretch, especially if they have recently exerted the muscles in their legs and hips. Consider using quick release techniques just in case.

Difficulty breathing

The chest harness used in this scene restricts the movement of the ribcage, and the position of the rope bottom restricts the movement of their abdomen. This leaves very little room for the lungs to expand. Carefully monitor your partner for shortness of breath or other signs of positional asphyxiation. To modify this scene, leave off the chest harness or tie it more loosely, or place a pillow under your partner’s chest or butt to reduce the pressure on their stomach. Positioning their legs closer together may also help. Experiment with modifications to find what works best for you.

Rope Needed

  • Chest: One 30’ (~9m) rope
  • Malasana: One 30’ (~9m) rope
  • Wrists and ankles: One 20-30’ (~6-9m) rope
